UGANDA COOPERATIVE ALLIANCE SIGNS MOU WITH EXCEL HORT CONSULT TO SUPPORT COOPERATIVES IN BUSINESS GROWTH AND INCUBATION

Uganda Cooperative Alliance signed an MOU with Excel Hort Consult Agribusiness Incubator a private sector actor with expertise in business incubation to support the growth and sustainability of startups and small-scale enterprises.
The new partnership is aimed at supporting in the creation of area-based cooperatives and unions for startups -youth and women and other actors with common business development will be mentored into Business hubs for cooperatives as they get skilled training.
The MoU also is intended to develop the competence of cooperatives in enterprise selection business planning and enterprise management using the incubation model.
Uganda Cooperative Alliance is the umbrella body for all cooperatives in Uganda whose mandate is to advocate, build the capacity of cooperatives, and represent cooperatives at a national and international level. Will identify and recommend cooperatives to be engaged in training/incubation programs with EHCAI. UCA through the MoU will also look at strengthening the capacity of cooperatives while providing relevant information to facilitate business cooperatives for sustainable Business.
